Acipet’s Luis Guillermo Acosta, spoke about royalties and energy transition.
Acosta told La Republica that the energy sector contributed royalties worth CoP$22T in 2019.
“This year, royalties could be between CoP$15T and CoP$17T,” Acosta highlighted.
The expert said that sustainability is a concern of the association.
“We have to move forward an industry hit by the pandemic and by politicians who speak without basis on technical issues,” Acosta said.
The expert highlighted that that the association supports energy transformation and renewable energies.
“Colombia has a competitive advantage in the transformation to renewables and Acipet will be a support for the energy transformation,” Acosta concluded.
Bottom-Line: The energy sector plays a fundamental role in Colombia’s development and the royalties contributed are proof of this.
Companies in the oil sector are betting on renewable energies, generating optimism to boost this industry quickly.
