OPL and Auteco Mobility announced an alliance to boost Electric Vehicles (EV) in Colombia.

The alliance seeks to roll out 30 new zero-emission EV, Valora Analitik reported.

“Electric mobility is determining the future of transportation and more organizations are joining it for its great benefits,” Andrés Cortés Parra, Director of Auteco Business, said.

Cortés said that electric mobility will continue to strengthen over the years as it has multiple environmental and economic benefits.

The companies agree that these mobility solutions have lower operating costs derived from the lower cost of energy versus fossil fuels and lower maintenance costs.

OPL already has four turbo-type vehicles with a four-ton capacity. This fleet will be joined by the 30 vehicles rolling through Colombia next year, representing an investment of US$1.5M.

“Our focus on constant innovation makes us revolutionary in offering new sustainable transportation alternatives,” OPL’s Javier Sanchez said.

Sanchez said that the company has 58 Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) and with electric technology in the country.

“We hope that these new 30 vehicles will continue to contribute significantly to the progress of the country,” Prada Sanchez said.

Bottom-Line: Positive news for the country, as this will help accelerate the expansion plans of the charging stations.
