The National Association for Sustainable Mobility (Andemos) published its monthly report on the behavior of the hybrid and electric vehicle market in June 2021. Here are the details.
Sales of these type of vehicles increased 99% during in June 2021, compared to previous month, Andemos said.
This metric went from 1,083 vehicles in May 2021 to 2,156 during June 2021.
Andemos said that 1,924 Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) were sold during June 2021, while sales were 284 same period last year. The industry sold 26 Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and 69 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) in June this year.
It is important to recall that sales were 6,011 vehicles in 2020, 91.8% more compared to the previous year (3,134). This metric has been 6,890 so far this year, 288% more compared to same period last year (1,777).
In June 2021, the best-selling brands were Toyota (1,114), Suzuki (249), Mercedes Benz (239), FORD (192) and Audi (81).
Bottom-Line: Sales continue to increase considerable, despite the national strike and political insecurity.
The market needs to see more news about charging infrastructure to boost sales even more.
