FENALCO and ANDI announced the number of Electric Vehicles (EV) registered in July this year.
The entities said that there were 1,915 EVs registered in the RUNT (Colombia’s official vehicle licensing database) in August this year, according to a press release.
This represented an increase of 355% compared to the same period 2020 (421). There were 2,156 EVs registered in June 2021.
The cumulative figure went from 2,195 EV registered in the first seven months of 2020 to 8,802 in the same period this year.
There were 1,835 hybrid vehicles and 79 Electric Vehicles registered in July 2021.
The top five brands registered were led by Toyota (843), followed by Suzuki (248), Ford (236), Subaru (124) and Mercedes Benz (115).
Bottom-Line: The EVs registered continue to show a positive trend while the sector continues to work on improving charging infrastructure. This will boost this market in the medium term.
