Isagen announced an agreement to develop a new wind project in La Guajira.
The company will develop the 12-megawatt (MW) Wesp 01 wind project in the municipality of Uribia (La Guajira, Colombia), Valora Analitik reported.
The agreement includes the assignment by Wayúu S.A. of the rights associated with this project to expand it up to 20MW.
It is important to remember that the company has already ventured into renewable energy projects, in solar projects such as Llanos Four and Five with 38MW in Puerto Gaitán (Meta) and the Sabanalarga project of 100MW.
Isagen is investing close to CoP$1.2T in its long-term strategy. One of the most noteworthy acquisitions is the purchase of the 39.8MW Luzma I and Luzma II hydroelectric generation assets in the municipality of Amalfi (Antioquia).
“These opportunities allow us to meet Isagen’s corporate goal of creating value with clean energies: generating economic value with renewable sources, with social and environmental profitability, through a clean and reliable matrix, and involving economic, environmental, social and governance criteria, with world-class standards,” the company highlighted
