President Gustavo Petro pointed to a ranking by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on annual energy inflation rates up to July 2023 in its 38 member countries. He criticized the calculation of electricity tariffs by the Regulatory Commission for Energy and Gas (CREG), alleging that it economically benefits companies in the sector.
