Pintuco inaugurated a solar panel system at its plant in Rionegro, Antioquia.
The company said that it was an interconnected photovoltaic system of 1,740MWp, composed of 5,614 solar panels and 22 inverters, La Republica reported.
“This percentage will grow, thanks to the continuous improvement processes that we have been implementing to save energy,” Pintuco’s Juan Moreno said.
This project included the change of asbestos-cement tiles for metal roofs, with bioclimatic designs that generate energy efficiency.
Vice Minister Miguel Lotero said that the inauguration of this solar panel system, as well as the other energy efficiency actions that Pintuco has implemented, will contribute to reducing the country’s emissions.
“Pintuco joins the transition of unconventional renewable energies led by Colombia in the region,” Lotero highlighted.
