Terpel Voltex inaugurated the first charging station for electric vehicles in Melgar.
The company seeks to increase its network and allow electric vehicles to use the country’s roads, La Republica reported.
Terpel Voltex Melgar joins the stations of Báscula in Bogotá, Montecristo in Puerto Salgar and Garota in Guarne, which since the beginning of this year allow travel between Bogotá and Medellín in these cars.
This new station contributes to the company’s goal of installing between 20 and 30 new charging stations in the main cities and road corridors of the country during this year, thus allowing the interconnection of cities such as Bogota, Medellin, and Cali, among others.
Juan Daniel Rueda, Manager of New Mobility at Terpel, said that owners of electric vehicles have been limited to making short trips within cities due to the lack of charging stations on the country’s highways.
“With this new station and with the others that we expect to open this year, we seek that Colombians can travel in their electric vehicles on the main road corridors throughout the country,” Rueda said.
