I recently read to my 95-year-old mother The Economist’s Technology Quarterly series on high-tech solutions to the climate crisis. She is an able debater and, given her advanced age, she does not worry much about long- or even medium-term impacts (“I won’t have to worry about that”) but recognizes the necessity of doing something today.
