Latin America and the Caribbean expect 3.7% growth in installed electricity generation capacity during 2025, reaching 562,000 MW total, driven primarily by renewable energy expansion. The growth stems from new wind and solar facilities plus natural gas thermal plants gradually displacing fossil fuel-based generation.
