The Ministry of Mines and Energy announced on June 12 the creation of a Special Committee for the coordination and monitoring of El Niño response measures across the energy and mining sector, formalizing an institutional structure to manage the climatic risk the government has been tracking through 36 prior sessions of its CACSSE energy security committee.
