Colombia's Ministry of Mines and Energy has designated Karen Schutt -- currently an expert commissioner at CREG and a former deputy energy minister -- as technical manager of the Sectoral Committee created under Resolution 40269 of 2026 to coordinate the government's response to El Niño and oversee strategic infrastructure milestones, including the scheduled maintenance at the SPEC regasification terminal in Cartagena.
