Enel bets on renewable

Enel Américas announced the acquisition of the business and unconventional renewable energy generation assets of EGP Américas.

The merger was completed thanks to the fulfillment of all the established conditions, Valora Analitik reported.

“Today, we have a renewed Enel Americas, whose leadership in the region has been strengthened after the integration of the largest unconventional renewable platform in Latin America,” CEO Maurizio Bezzeccheri said.

Bezzeccheri said that this merger brings new growth opportunities for the company.

“Our positioning in the distribution business and in the advanced energy solutions market allows us to continue promoting the energy transition in the Region,” Bezzeccheri explained.

Enel Américas increases the representation of renewable sources in its parent company from 56% to 73% with this merger.

With this merger, the company added 3.6GW to its operation, 4.3GW in development and another 22GW in the pipeline. At the same time, it added to its perimeter the markets of Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama.

In addition, the company said that the Board of Directors approved the modification of the bylaws, consisting of the elimination of the limitations and restrictions.
