Energy demand in November

XM, operator of the National Interconnected System (SIN) and administrator of the Wholesale Energy Market (MEM), reported the behavior of this metric in November 2021.

Energy demand increased 7.08% to 6,289Wh in November 2021 compared to same period last year (5,873GWh), XM said in a statement.

This metric decreased 3.10% compared to previous month.

The agency explained that the regulated market represented 67.51% of the total demand in November; this metric was 4,223GWh in November 2021, while it was 4,052GWh during the same period in the previous year.

The unregulated market represented the remaining 32.49% of the demand, increasing 12.91% to 2,032GWh in the same period.

Caribbean reported a 12.25% increase in energy demand during November 2021; followed by Guaviare (7.87%), East (7.53%), Center (5.83%), Antioquia (5.13), the THC (Tolima, Huila and Caqueta) region (4.98%), the CQR (Caldas, Quindio and Risaralda) (4.0%), South (0.65%), and Choco (0.19%). Valle reported a decrease of 1.3%.
