The company inaugurated a new solar energy self-generation system.

This system is powered by 1,044 solar panels installed on the roof of the EPM building in Medellin, La Republica reported.

The project has an installed capacity of 418kWp, with an energy replacement of about 5.5% of its monthly consumption.

This project is part of the company’s goal to be carbon neutral in its operations by 2025.

“With the installation of solar panels at our headquarters in Medellin, we will avoid the annual emission of 123 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), equivalent to the planting of 6,595 trees,” EPM’s Jorge Andres Carrillo Cardoso.

It is important to remember that EPM offers an “Integral Solar Solution” since 2019, which allows homes and businesses to generate their own energy with solar panels. This service includes: design, supply, installation and maintenance of a solar photovoltaic system, according to the energy need.
