EV market in December

The National Association for Sustainable Mobility (Andemos) published its monthly report on the behavior of the hybrid and electric vehicle market in December 2021. Here are the details.

Sales of these type of vehicles decreased 16% during in December 2021, compared to previous month, Andemos said.

This metric went from 2,260 vehicles in November 2021 to 1,898 during December 2021. However, this metric increased 45% compared to same period last year, when it was 1,310.

Andemos said that 1,518 Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) were sold during December 2021, while sales were 939 same period last year. The industry sold 176 Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and 204 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) in December this year.

It is important to recall that sales were 6,011 vehicles in 2020, 91.8% more compared to the previous year (3,134). This metric was 17,702 in 2021, 194% more compared to 2020.

In 2021, the best-selling brands were Toyota (6,960), Suzuki (2,314), Ford (1,584), KIA (1,431) and Mercedes Benz (1,390).
