The Plaza de las Americas shopping mall announced that it had enabled a charging station for electric cars.
This with the aim of mitigating the environmental impact generated by CO2 emissions from combustion vehicles, La Republica reported.
This space will be available on the 1st floor of the mall’s parking tower and will not have any additional cost.
Three electric chargers have been installed. Two of 7.2 kilowatts (kW) and one of 1.8kW, one with a Type 1 connector, one with a Type 2 connector and other with a Twizy connector.
This means, three cars can be recharged simultaneously, likewise, it is possible to charge vehicles belonging to Renault (Kangoo and Twizy), Nissan, BMW, BMW, Jaguar, Volvo, Porsche, BYD (with Type 2 connector) and Mercedes Benz brands.
“This new charging station is part of our environmental route, which we have been working on for approximately four years with the purpose of contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals,” Ana Isabel Coba, General Manager of Plaza de las Americas mall, said.
Bottom-Line: Shopping malls are playing an important role in driving new charging stations while customers are in their facilities.
A great strategy to continue promoting the use of electric and hybrid vehicles in the country.
