Green Yellow has made good progress on solar projects in Colombia.
The company has installed solar farms in Colombia with a capacity of 20MW and has ongoing projects equivalent to 75MW, Valora Analitik reported.
Groupe Seb Andean, Grupo Éxito, Aldor, Tecnoglass, retail companies and shopping malls such as Unicentro, Diverplaza and Estación are some of Green Yellow’s clients.
“There are many customers who have benefited from the installation on site for self-generation. We have the first large-scale self-generation park of 12MW installed in Planeta Rica, Córdoba,” Marcos Páez, Commercial Director of Green Yellow, said.
Colombia is the third most important country for the organization’s market, after France and Brazil.
“We want to pull budget towards Colombia,” Paez said.
The company’s projects have had an important impact in the interior of Colombia, the coast and Valle del Cauca, with energy efficiency strategies and complementary photovoltaic generation systems.
“The new regulatory framework, the energy transition law and distributed energy funds generate significant growth potential for the coming years, so we are preparing to have more resources to invest in the Colombian industry,” Paez said.
The company recently inaugurated a solar farm for Groupe Seb Andean in Rionegro, Antioquia, with investments of US$1M. The project utilized the tax benefits granted by Law 1715.
Bottom-Line: Colombia is attracting the attention of large companies thanks to its wind and solar potential. Additionally, the government has created incentives to materialize this interest in projects and this news is proof of the good results obtained so far.
