Just before his inauguration, President Gustavo Petro named his Minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélez. In these early days, she appears to be a controversial choice. In mining and the oil and gas part of energy, she is likely to be more antagonist than protagonist. But what will her role be in electricity and, especially, renewable energy.
