Enel Green Power installed the first solar panel at La Loma, the largest solar park under construction in the country.

The project, located in the department of Cesar, will have an installed capacity of 187 MWdc, thanks to the more than 400,000 panels that will be installed on the 437-hectare site.

The solar panel installed is 220 centimeters high, 103 centimeters long and 3.5 centimeters wide, and has an individual capacity of 460 watts (W).

The panel is bifacial, which enables it to absorb energy on both sides, and it is located on an automatic system of metallic structures, called a tracker, which allows it to rotate and orient itself with the movement of the sun to capture its rays throughout the day and thus optimize the energy generation process.

It is important to highlight that the more than 400,000 solar panels will be distributed in 22 sub-fields, in a solar area of around 370 hectares.

“We estimate finishing the assembly of all the modules during the first four months of 2022 so that, during the second half of the same year, we will be able to produce more than 420GWh/year. This energy will be capable of supplying the needs of approximately 370,000 inhabitants per year,” said Adrián Dugulán, head of Business Development for Enel Green Power in Colombia.
