Renovatio announced that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire a portfolio of solar projects.

The company will acquire 350MW in solar PV projects, Valora Analitik reported.

The announcement follows a rebranding and expansion of the scope of the business, as it will now be called Spectrum. This new brand will integrate solar renewable energy generation and marketing.

Spectrum will increase its solar portfolio to more than 400MW, 59% more than the current installed capacity in the country (239MW). The company, with a presence in the country since 2013, estimates that it will begin construction of its projects in 2023.

“We are going to establish the path so that by the end of this government there will be 2,500MW of installed capacity in unconventional renewable energy installed or under construction,” Minister of Mines and Energy (MinEnergia), Diego Mesa, said.

Francisco Sanclemente, General Manager of Spectrum, said that the installed capacity of the projects is equivalent to 11.5% of the government’s renewables target.

“The acquisition of this portfolio allows Spectrum to remain on track to become Colombia’s first 100% renewable energy provider,” Sanclemente concluded.
