Tariff option resurfaces

The Colombian government is preparing a new legislative push to address the long-standing "tariff option" debt owed to utility companies, mainly those distributing energy and gas, stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Back then, households were allowed to delay payments for public services, with the understanding that those bills would eventually be settled. Years later, that financial catch-up remains unpaid.
