Enel-Codensa inaugurated the first high voltage underground cable test field.
The goal is to evaluate the adoption of new technologies for the use of urban subsoil in particular soil conditions of Bogota and its surroundings, La Republica reported.
The investment in the test field exceeds CoP$2.0B to date and is being developed at the Liater High Voltage and Renewable Energy Innovation Laboratory and within the framework of Enel’s Open Innovation strategy.
The National University is supporting this project as well.
The company develops tests that consist of accelerated aging of underground cables to identify faults in the insulation, in the peripheral equipment, to validate the operating temperature and to verify the durability of the cable system.
